Abstract

El frijol ejotero (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) es una hortaliza de importancia alimentaria y económica; sin embargo, su productividad puede verse limitada por la baja eficiencia en el aprovechamiento de nutrimentos y agua. En este contexto, las sustancias húmicas representan una alternativa para mejorar procesos fisiológicos y productivos de los cultivos. El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar el efecto de diferentes concentraciones de sustancias húmicas sobre el crecimiento, rendimiento y calidad del frijol ejotero. Se utilizaron semillas de frijol ejotero cv. Strike sembradas en macetas de 10 dm³ con tezontle como sustrato. Los tratamientos consistieron en la aplicación de 0.00, 0.01 y 0.02 % (v/v) de sustancias húmicas provenientes del producto comercial Nutri-Humus®, incorporadas mediante el riego junto con la solución nutritiva Universal de Steiner. El experimento se estableció bajo un diseño completamente al azar con seis repeticiones. Se evaluaron altura de planta, diámetro del tallo, peso fresco de vainas, longitud de vainas y rendimiento acumulado. Los resultados mostraron que las sustancias húmicas incrementaron significativamente el rendimiento por planta, el peso fresco y la longitud de las vainas, mientras que la altura de planta y el diámetro del tallo no fueron afectados significativamente. Se concluye que la aplicación de sustancias húmicas favorece la producción del cultivo al promover el desarrollo y calidad de las vainas, siendo una alternativa para el cultivo de frijol ejotero bajo condiciones protegidas.
